article4_20141017Bill Hansen, of Long Island, New York, was loading his groceries into the trunk of his car when he realized that he had a $20 bill in his pocket and decided to go back into the supermarket and buy a scratch off ticket. That decision would ultimately change his life. He walked back into the store and selected a $500,000,000 Extravaganza instant ticket. He scratched it off right there in the store and at first glance thought he had won $5,000. Hansen asked the customer service desk employee to check the ticket. It didn’t sink in that he had won $5 million until they announced it on the loud speaker.

The retired crane worker and his wife Mary, have been married for over 50 years, claimed the winnings together. They were joined by their family. The Hansens will receive 20 annual payments of $125,000 each before taxes. They plan to use the money to take care of their extended family which includes six children, eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Congrats to all the winners out there who have been so lucky to win big !! One day I hope for the same chance but my luck is just terrible lol so I’m not holding my breath. I think people that do have Millions of dollars to spare should share the wealth with charities, shelters, the homeless , Etc. the list can go on & on.That’s what I would do anyway but I can’t speak for everyone. I just get irritated when I see random people asking for other people’s money , But then again one day someone may get lucky and get what they ask for. I help when I can, which isn’t very often but We try. We are broke most of the time just trying to keep food on the table and roof over our heads for our four boys ages 2-13. I’m a stay at home mom only because we don’t have a babysitter or family in town . My husband works 60+ hours a week and that barely pays the bills. I wish you all the best . hope we can all win at some point
